Compare that with $30,000–$60,000 a year for the same degree in the UK, Australia or North America. A private Malaysian university or a branch campus costs more than this example, and medicine costs considerably more — we prepare an exact budget for your chosen university.
For the student pass you must show you can cover the first year.
In practice that means a bank statement covering first-year tuition plus roughly RM 20,000 – 25,000 (about $4,300 – $5,300) of living costs, in your name or a sponsor's with a sponsorship letter. We review the statement with you before it is submitted so the visa file is not delayed.
